Company Overview
Safety First Contracting, operating as AWP Safety, is currently seeking to hire multiple Traffic Control Persons to join our team.
Job Responsibilities
- Set up temporary workplace signage compliant with provincial standards.
- Ensure all necessary equipment for daily tasks is loaded onto the truck before departure.
- Communicate with clients onsite to fully understand the project requirements and traffic control needs.
- Monitor that all Traffic Control Persons adhere to established safety policies during fieldwork.
- Provide traffic control support during crew members' breaks and lunch periods.
- Conduct regular inspections of temporary work environments to maintain safety and compliance.
Qualifications and Training
- Certified as a Provincial Traffic Control Person.
- Certified as a Provincial Traffic Control Agent/Signer.
- Capable of lifting weights up to 50 pounds.
- Possession of steel-toe boots.
- Holding a Nova Scotia Traffic Control Person Certificate is preferred.
- Having a Nova Scotia Temporary Workplace Signer Certificate is advantageous.
- A valid Nova Scotia Class 5 Driver's License is preferred.
