Job description
About the Role
At Capgemini Engineering, a global leader in engineering services, we unite a diverse team of engineers, scientists, and architects to empower the world's most innovative companies. Our expertise spans autonomous vehicles to life-saving robotics, delivering unique R&D and engineering solutions across various industries. Join us to embark on a career rich with opportunity and impact where each day brings new challenges.
As a Telecom OSS Architect / Designer, you will serve as a senior technical leader within our Connectivity & Network Engineering division, spearheading the architecture and design of intricate OSS solutions for leading telecom clients in Saudi Arabia. You will act as the key link between business goals and technical execution, collaborating closely with client stakeholders, engineering teams, and vendors to establish and execute cutting-edge OSS ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading comprehensive OSS architecture and design initiatives covering Network Inventory Management, Performance Management, and Fault/Event Management, crafting solution blueprints, integration strategies, and technical roadmaps aligned with client objectives and TM Forum best practices.
- Designing and implementing Network Inventory systems including modelling physical, logical, and service inventories to ensure precise, real-time network asset tracking across diverse vendor and technology platforms such as 2G/3G/4G/5G, Fixed networks, and IP/MPLS.
- Designing Performance and Fault Management solutions focusing on KPI frameworks, threshold settings, alarm correlation, and root cause analysis for enabling proactive telecom network operations to minimize service disruptions.
- Engaging with senior client stakeholders to gather complex requirements and translate them into detailed technical architectures and documentation including high-level and low-level designs, being a trusted adviser throughout project lifecycles.
- Managing OSS integration design, establishing interfaces and APIs between OSS modules and related systems like BSS, NMS, EMS, and cloud-native management platforms to maintain seamless operational workflows.
- Providing leadership and mentorship to OSS engineering teams, overseeing design reviews, ensuring quality and architectural adherence across project streams.
- Contributing to pre-sales efforts by participating in RFP/RFI responses, technical proposals, and solution presentations, leveraging deep telecom domain expertise to capture new business within Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle Eastern region.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Over 12 years’ experience in telecommunications with a specialized focus on OSS architecture and delivery, demonstrating proficiency in at least two domains such as Network Inventory Management, Performance Management, or Fault/Event Management within large, multi-vendor operator contexts.
- Hands-on expertise with OSS platforms and tools like IBM Tivoli Netcool, Nokia NetAct, Ericsson ENM/ENIQ, Huawei iMAC/U2000, or Comarch OSS, alongside comprehensive understanding of OSS/BSS integration methods, mediation layers, and telecom network data models.
- Strong familiarity with TM Forum standards (eTOM, TAM, SID/ODA) and related telecom industry protocols including 3GPP, ETSI, IETF, and TMN, with practical experience applying these frameworks in enterprise architecture.
- Experience architecting integration solutions using REST/SOAP web services, TMF Open APIs, OSS/J, XML/JSON data formats, and middleware technologies to build scalable, secure OSS ecosystems.
- Proven ability in producing detailed architecture and design documents, including Solution Architecture Documents, HLDs, LLDs, interface controls, data flow diagrams, and operational guides, with presentation skills suitable for both technical and executive audiences.
Why Join Us
- Access to Dedicated Innovation Labs focusing on frontier technologies such as 5G, 6G, AI, Autonomous Vehicles, and Quantum computing, placing you at the forefront of telecom network evolution.
- Career development initiatives including leadership acceleration programs designed to elevate senior engineers to advanced roles.
- Opportunity to work for a global leader recognized for delivering cutting-edge engineering solutions that drive digital and technological transformation worldwide.
- Participation in Engineering Horizons, an exclusive conference fostering excellence and networking among the top-tier engineering talent globally.
