Role Overview

This role entails fabricating and testing hydraulic hose assemblies to meet rigorous company standards. Responsibilities include building, crimping, and testing hoses used in mining equipment and operational hydraulics across low and high pressures.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere consistently to all K92 Mining safety policies and procedures.
• Execute tasks precisely as directed by supervisors, both verbally and in writing.
• Select appropriate fittings for hoses following OEM specifications.
• Assemble various types of hydraulic hoses for mining machinery and site hydraulic functions.
• Operate and maintain hose assembly machinery safely and effectively.
• Perform pressure testing on hoses, understanding critical safety protocols at elevated pressures.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas to avoid hazards.
• Comply with environmental guidelines related to workshop activities.
• Be knowledgeable about and use all provided fittings correctly.
• Contribute actively to team efforts and foster best working practices.
• Work overtime as required to meet company deadlines.

Candidate Profile

Potential candidates must hold at least a Grade Ten School Certificate, alongside 3+ years’ experience within a mining environment or heavy construction setting. Essential qualifications and attributes include:

• Strong mechanical technical aptitude.
• Minimum three years’ proven experience in hose fabrication.
• Familiarity with hydraulic systems handling liquids and gases under various pressures.
• Valid Papua New Guinea driver’s license.
• Training and assessment qualifications and experience.
• Current first aid certification.
• Robust troubleshooting capabilities.
• Self-driven and capable of independently managing work under pressure.
• Meticulous attention to detail with solid time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interpersonal relations, conflict resolution, and training delivery.
• Commitment to promoting a culture of safety and health.
