Technician

Position Overview

The Technician role involves addressing and resolving guest repair requests promptly while interacting professionally with guests and customers to fix maintenance concerns. The job includes preventive upkeep of tools and equipment in kitchen and mechanical areas, such as cleaning and lubricating components, along with visual inspections of machinery and tools. Carrying necessary equipment like tools and communication radios is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and operate all utility shut-off valves for equipment and buildings.
• Manage maintenance inventory and procure parts as necessary.
• Communicate daily activities and incidents to other shifts using approved protocols.
• Acquire or demonstrate basic knowledge in areas including air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatics/electronics, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance.
• Perform surface prep, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, replace light bulbs and air conditioning filters, and clean work areas thoroughly.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment and plumbing issues like clogged drains and malfunctioning electrical components.
• Program televisions and carry out housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.
• Utilize the Lockout/Tagout safety system before any maintenance work.
• Maintain interior/exterior landscaping and repair irrigation sprinkler systems.
• Demonstrate basic computer literacy by managing air handler schedules and temperature settings.
• Adhere to all company safety and security policies, complete safety training and certifications, and properly store flammable materials.
• Maintain cleanliness and professional appearance, uphold confidentiality, protect company assets, and deliver guest services in line with company standards.
• Build positive relationships with colleagues, assist team goals, and communicate clearly and professionally.
• Perform physical tasks including moving, lifting, and climbing as needed for the job.
• Conduct additional reasonable job duties when requested.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting preferred.
• Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License is required.
• No supervisory experience required.

Additional Information

This role is a full-time, non-management position located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, specifically on Al Emreef Street. This position requires on-site presence; remote work is not applicable. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance and team-assisted lifting for heavier loads. Candidates must practice safety protocols rigorously and demonstrate professionalism in appearance and conduct.
