Job description

Role Overview

Safe Software seeks a proactive Technical Product Manager to join the Product Management team, contributing to the Enterprise Automation and Platform Enablement portfolios within the FME Platform. This position involves a hands-on approach where you will participate in discovery, shaping, and delivering solutions that impact how enterprise customers deploy and manage FME. Over time, ownership of a product roadmap area will be expected, steering its strategic decisions and outcomes.

Team Environment

The Product Management group is dynamic and cross-functional, focused on evolving the FME Platform aligned with strategic business goals. The team takes a market and customer-centric approach, emphasizing collaboration, ownership, and evidence-based decision making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify valuable problems to solve by framing opportunities, gathering customer insights, and validating concepts.
  • Lead discovery activities with Design and Engineering using customer interviews, competitive research, and prototypes to minimize uncertainty before resource allocation.
  • Translate validated concepts into clear, implementable deliverables such as PRDs and success metrics, coordinating with engineering on prioritization.
  • Support the delivery process by clarifying requirements, integrating beta and early user feedback, and ensuring alignment with initial problem framing.
  • Contribute across multiple roadmap sectors within the Enterprise Automation and Platform Enablement domains, guiding product lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Experience for release readiness and go-to-market messaging.

Qualifications and Skills

  • At least 5 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 3 years in product management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to engage in detailed discussions on system architecture, deployment pipelines, APIs, and platform infrastructure.
  • Experience developing products aimed at technical users such as operators, administrators, and developers rather than general consumers.
  • Adept at handling ambiguity by creating clarity through structured problem solving and customer engagement.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the capability to produce detailed PRDs and concept documents that advance project progress.
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills working effectively with engineering, design, and product peers in shared ownership settings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Safe Software’s technology, customer needs, and strategic objectives.
  • Understanding of enterprise software adoption and operational challenges including deployment, administration, and scalability.
  • Experience with workflow automation, job execution, or integration platforms.

Benefits and Work Culture

  • Engage in meaningful work impacting data integration and business processes.
  • Empowered environment encouraging idea sharing and autonomy with strong team support.
  • Opportunities to contribute to community initiatives with paid volunteer time.
  • Support for professional development with an annual learning budget and training programs funded by the company.
  • Flexible remote working hours that accommodate your lifestyle preferences.
  • Work-life balance with three weeks paid vacation and six additional paid seasonal days off annually.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, lifestyle spending, and counseling benefits available from the first day of employment.
  • Parental Leave Top-Up Program providing additional support for new parents through childbirth or adoption.
  • Profit sharing and retirement plan matching programs reflecting collective success.
  • Convenient workplace location with public transit access, complimentary parking, and bike storage.
