Role Overview

The Technical Product Manager for GenAI Safety Solutions plays a critical role in shaping platform strategies and steering the broader "GenAI Safety-as-a-Solution" vision across the organization. Rather than concentrating on a single product, this position maintains a comprehensive, cross-functional perspective. The role involves monitoring industry evolutions, investigating new GenAI risks, and collaborating with Algorithm and Research & Development teams to assemble a suite of centralized tools, platforms, and models essential for various GenAI safety product groups.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement features for centralized safety platforms such as BEATS (for evaluation and auto-labeling), Excalibur (a unified moderation pipeline), and ByteRadar (real-time post-launch monitoring).
• Develop evaluation systems including auto-labeling mechanisms, safety ranking leaderboards, prompt governance frameworks, and tools to facilitate adversarial testing or red-teaming experiments.
• Create content moderation models in partnership with Algorithm teams to mitigate content safety risks and intellectual property or copyright concerns across diverse GenAI formats.
• Establish safety filters and data cleansing processes to protect foundational GenAI models.
• Build and refine systems utilizing AI-enabled agentic development methods.
• Manage long-term solution programs through effective collaboration with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Conduct ongoing research on emerging GenAI risks such as jailbreak techniques and attack strategies, converting insights into actionable safety features integrated into existing platforms and tools.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of five years’ experience in product management, engineering, data science, or machine learning, preferably with some background in Trust & Safety roles.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency in developing solutions from concept to implementation, either independently or collaboratively with product, research, algorithm, and data science teams.
• Fluency in both Mandarin and English, as the role demands interaction with Chinese content and Mandarin-speaking stakeholders, while English serves as the primary working language.
• Strong skills in product design, an analytical mindset for working with data, and enthusiasm for handling sophisticated products and ecosystems.
• Practical experience and keen interest in Generative AI, particularly in AI-assisted agentic development platforms such as Codex, Claude Code, and Mira.
