About The Team
Our robotic platforms are powered by dependable sensor networks and operating systems. The Robotics Product Owner acts as the essential connection between overarching system requirements and daily engineering efforts.
Your Mission
You will lead a diverse team of hardware and software engineers overseeing a rapidly expanding project portfolio. Collaborating with system engineers and program managers, you ensure the team's tasks are precise, actionable, prioritized, and regularly communicated to the wider organization about our technical offerings.
Responsibilities
- Convert complex system requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria in coordination with system engineers and program managers, facilitating the engineering team's understanding.
- Consistently prioritize and manage the engineering backlog—balancing both fundamentals of architecture and immediate project objectives—working closely with the team lead across hardware and software domains.
- Coordinate daily team alignment to unblock progress and keep development sprints on track, supporting hardware engineers and software developers alike.
- Keep thorough, accessible documentation detailing technical capabilities, system resources, and sprint results, ensuring transparency for stakeholders regarding team deliverables.
- Assess completed engineering outputs against requirements, mediating trade-offs between hardware limitations, software performance, and project deadlines when conflicts arise.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in technical product management or comparable roles dealing with integrated hardware-software products, robotics, IoT, or sophisticated technical systems.
- Comfortable examining technical designs, navigating code bases (preferably with GitLab), and collaborating closely with software engineers.
- Strong systems thinking with familiarity in robotics and embedded technology stacks, including sensor calibration, edge computing platforms like Nvidia Jetson, driver integration, and system architecture discussions.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts between engineers and program management effectively.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of sensor hardware lifecycles and optical components.
- Experience working with embedded Linux environments, Jetson carrier boards, or handling base image configuration.
- Exposure to Agile methodologies specifically adapted to hardware development contexts.
- Background in defense, aerospace, or autonomous vehicle industries is advantageous.
