Job description
About the Company
An established and expanding independent financial planning firm located in East Anglia, the company blends a personalized, relationship-driven approach typical of regional Independent Financial Advisers (IFA) with the stability and resources of a larger financial planning group. The company culture promotes collaboration, authenticity, and ongoing improvement while focusing on delivering uniquely tailored financial planning services and fostering the growth of technical expertise.
Role Summary
The role suits an experienced Technical Paraplanner who will collaborate closely with Independent Financial Advisers to produce precise financial plans tailored to individual client requirements. The position emphasizes providing technical input throughout the advisory process, involving detailed research, preparation of suitability documentation, and cashflow modelling to aid financial decision-making. This opportunity is intended for seasoned paraplanners familiar with the IFA environment and who can contribute expert knowledge immediately, rather than trainees or administrative staff transitioning into paraplanning.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough financial planning research and analysis to assist advisers in client assessments and strategy development, engaging with technically diverse advisory tasks.
- Generate clear and accurate suitability reports, financial plans, and advisory documents covering new business, annual reviews, and other recommendations.
- Develop and interpret cashflow models to elucidate various financial scenarios and long-term planning outcomes for advisers and clients.
- Prepare comprehensive evidence and documentation to support and justify recommendations relating to providers, products, and planning strategies.
- Collaborate closely with Financial Advisers, provide technical support during client meetings, including presentation of technical information and cashflow analyses.
- Advance and maintain up-to-date product knowledge, regulatory awareness, and financial planning expertise to uphold high standards within the team.
Requirements
- Practical experience as a Paraplanner within an IFA or independent financial planning setting.
- Possession of a Level 4 Diploma or an equivalent qualification; Chartered status is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Strong technical proficiency in the financial planning process, including skills in suitability reporting, research, and cashflow modelling.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational abilities, and clear written communication skills capable of managing complex technical cases within deadlines.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary ranging from £40,000 to £55,000, dependent on experience and qualifications; higher salary scale available for Chartered paraplanners with substantial experience.
- Employer pension contributions beginning at 3%, increasing to 5% after two years.
- Annual leave of 25 days plus public holidays, with incremental increases up to 30 days and an option to purchase an additional five days.
- Life cover equal to four times salary, healthcare cash plan, and free mortgage advice.
- One day annually dedicated to Community Involvement Leave.
- Employee Assistance Programme and access to a shopping discount platform.
- Free parking at the office and opportunity for hybrid working with up to two days remote after passing probation.
