Technical Draftsman / Technical Detailer – Riyadh

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Draftsman / Technical Detailer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves transforming design ideas related to woodworking, joinery, furniture, exhibition stands, event production, stage scenery, or TV studio set construction into detailed, fabrication-ready drawings suitable for production workshops.

Key Responsibilities

• Create precise 2D and 3D technical and shop drawings using AutoCAD.
• Convert SketchUp design models into production-ready documentation.
• Develop detailed execution and shop drawings indicating dimensions, materials, joinery, and assembly instructions.
• Generate DXF and DWG files suitable for CNC cutting operations.
• Optimize material layouts and panel nesting for efficient fabrication.
• Produce cutting lists, detailed component schedules, and clear assembly guidance.
• Verify that drawings meet requirements for both workshop fabrication and onsite assembly.
• Collaborate closely with designers, workshop personnel, and project teams to address and resolve technical challenges.
• Apply solid practical knowledge of carpentry, woodwork, and joinery construction techniques.
• Understand the fabrication process within the workshop and site assembly prerequisites.
• Familiarity with light steel structures and metal fabrication is a helpful additional skill.

Experience and Skills Required

• 3 to over 5 years of relevant experience in woodworking fields such as joinery, furniture making, exhibition and event production, stage scenery, or TV studio set construction.
• Proficient in working with AutoCAD 2D and 3D environments.
• Strong capability in using SketchUp for model interpretation and drawing preparation.
• Hands-on experience preparing production shop or execution drawings.
• Knowledge of CNC router file preparation, including managing DXF/DWG files and panel nesting for material efficiency.
• Comprehensive understanding of woodwork, carpentry, and detailed joinery methods.
• Clear insight into workshop fabrication processes and installation needs.
• Adept at interpreting design concepts and translating them into practical production drawings.
• High attention to detail combined with an understanding of manufacturing and assembly stages.

Preferred Experience

• Background in exhibition stands and event production.
• Experience in stage scenery or theatre workshop environments.
• Familiarity with TV studio set construction.
• Experience in furniture production sectors.
• Skills in custom joinery and carpentry.
• Knowledge of interior fit-out and specialized joinery work.

Additional Information

Candidates with experience limited to mechanical equipment, heavy steel structures, tanks, piping, or sheet-metal production will only be considered if they also have demonstrable experience in woodworking, joinery, and CNC-router file preparation.
