Role Overview

The Technical Director (TD) takes charge of strategic technical leadership that spans multiple global offices, primarily hubs located in Dubai, the Philippines, and Bangkok. This role entails fostering high-performing technical teams, enforcing robust systems, and establishing standards that guarantee efficient and risk-managed project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure creative design concepts are both practical and constructible, preserving design integrity.
• Lead the maintenance of superior documentation quality, compliance, and detailing standards.
• Enhance project delivery efficiency by mitigating risks, optimizing coordination, and ensuring cost-effective execution.
• Develop and implement technical benchmarks that guide project teams to produce compliant and buildable design outputs.
• Oversee workflows involving Design, Production, and Room Rollouts to maximize operational efficiency.
• Coordinate closely with specifications and sub-consultants to align design development.
• Incorporate operator guidelines, building codes, regulatory mandates, and industry standards within technical workflows.
• Adopt and encourage the use of emerging technologies and digital platforms, including Building Information Modelling (BIM).
• Govern the creation and quality assurance of technical documentation ensuring clarity, coordination, and alignment with client expectations.
• Collaborate with design leadership to translate creative concepts into detailed technical schematics across all project stages.
• Supervise the technical execution from concept through construction, providing guidance, validating decisions, and minimizing risks.
• Foster collaboration among multidisciplinary teams including designers, architects, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
• Conduct rigorous quality assurance reviews, ensuring adherence to internal standards, regulatory compliance, and operator protocols.
• Mentor project teams, providing critical technical feedback and cultivating ongoing professional development.
• Establish and lead an independent Technical Department by Q3/Q4 2026, defining its vision, structure, and governance across all offices.
• Centralize technical delivery processes, ensuring projects are resourced, coordinated, and executed through the Technical Department.
• Implement scalable training programs and knowledge transfer frameworks to enhance technical capabilities company-wide.
• Assess technical resources and support recruitment and talent development initiatives.
• Drive technical risk management, compliance, and delivery assurance.
• Develop succession plans to nurture and prepare high-potential leaders for advanced strategic roles.
• Contribute to quality tracking through PQP compliance and QC/QA monitoring.
• Lead team performance towards meeting KPIs while modeling professional standards consistent with company values.

Project Types

Projects span new construction and renovation across hospitality (hotels and F&B), private residences, residential developments, commercial, retail, leisure environments, including office, retail, and entertainment venues.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, with over ten years of significant technical experience and at least five years in senior leadership roles.
• Demonstrate proven expertise in leading technical strategies and multi-project deliveries.
• Exhibit strong stakeholder management capabilities and effectively translate complex technical matters into strategic business decisions.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of compliance, quality standards, and governance in technical design and delivery.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong administrative aptitude, including project completion tracking, record keeping, reporting, and organizational skills.
• Exhibit passion and motivation for the design field combined with a collaborative, team-oriented attitude.
• Possess expertise in technical design oversight and ability to establish company-wide technical standards and policies.
• Demonstrate strong leadership in mentoring, performance management, and team development.
• Exhibit advanced problem-solving and analytical skills for complex technical challenges.
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Working knowledge of construction project software such as Primavera, Aconex, BIM360, and Sage.
