Technical Business Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to serve as a critical bridge within our digital delivery initiatives, translating business requirements into precise, technically detailed specifications suitable for development teams. This role emphasizes hands-on technical involvement rather than just traditional process documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the entire requirements lifecycle including discovery, elicitation, specification, development handover, quality assurance support, and production acceptance.
• Develop detailed functional specifications such as user stories with clear acceptance criteria, API contract documentation, mobile UX workflows, business rules, and identify edge cases.
• Collaborate with solution architects to create and maintain API specifications and integration documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Document the integrations between digital channels and core banking systems highlighting data flows, event triggers, and transformation logic.
• Facilitate requirements workshops involving business stakeholders and product owners.
• Maintain the Requirements Traceability Matrix throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist QA teams by designing test scenarios and acting as the functional authority during system and user acceptance testing phases.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing, oversee defect triage, and support sign-off processes.
• Conduct gap analysis comparing current systems against target state architectures.
• Produce and upkeep Business Requirement Documents, functional specifications, data mapping documentation, and API contracts.
• Serve as the intermediary translating between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
• Identify and communicate any risks related to functionality or requirements to delivery leadership promptly.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 10 years experience in business analysis roles, including 5 years specifically as a technical business analyst in digital banking or fintech environments.
• A technical background with experience in software development, API design, systems integration, or architecture is essential.
• Proficient with OpenAPI/Swagger specifications and RESTful API design principles.
• Experience documenting integrations with core banking platforms such as Finacle, Nucleus, FLEXCUBE, TSYS, or comparable systems.
• Excellent technical writing abilities to clearly define user stories and acceptance criteria.
• QA and UAT experience, especially in highly regulated industries.
• Understanding of mobile application delivery processes.
• Familiarity with agile tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline; certifications like CBAP or BCS BA are advantageous.
