Role Overview

Our cloud-based platform, Gentu, serves over 5,000 specialist practices across Australia, assisting more than 22,000 clinicians in their daily tasks. From managing patient interactions to facilitating payments, our software is integral to real-world clinical workflows. As part of a global health tech group with presence across Australia, the UK, and Europe, Gentu is our key investment focus.

As a Tech Lead, your mission is to elevate the engineering team by shaping decision-making, software development processes, and quality maintenance at scale. This role carries significant impact on clinicians and patients every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical decision-making to ensure timely and effective choices
• Enhance team processes for designing, building, testing, and delivering software
• Champion the integration of agentic AI tools within development workflows
• Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to align priorities and solutions
• Oversee system health, including performance, reliability, security, and managing technical debt
• Proactively identify and communicate risks before they escalate

Candidate Profile

You are a seasoned engineer with a natural ability to uplift your team. Having played a central technical role before, you improve outcomes through influence rather than directive. Comfortable leading without possessing all answers, you foster an environment that enables smarter decision-making. You have a curiosity for emerging technologies, especially AI, and enjoy exploring new methodologies in software creation.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Significant experience as a Senior Engineer or Technology Lead
• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, Node.js, TypeScript, React, and AWS
• Capability to work across the full stack with deep expertise in at least one area
• Track record of enhancing engineering practices and elevating team performance
• Proactive adoption and experimentation with AI-enabled development tools
• Strong collaboration skills across Engineering, Product, and Delivery teams
• A builder mentality characterized by creativity, experimentation, and continuous learning
• Bonus: Experience within healthcare or regulated industries
