About the Role

Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited invites applications for the position of Team Lead within our Revenue Operations and Payment Team, specializing in Centralized Receipting. This role supports the Supervisor in coordinating daily operations and managing administrative and cashiering tasks in the unit, providing leadership to cashiers and ensuring accurate financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Authenticate cashiers' transactions, endorse counter collection documents, and authorize lodgments for processing by Beryllium.
  • Prepare and organize documents, together with cash and cheques, for bank submissions.
  • Verify cashiers' cash floats and any amounts not yet lodged before securing cash pans in the safe.
  • Facilitate staff training on relevant computer systems and job functions.
  • Collect payments made over the counter as well as electronic payments for insurance policies, mortgages, pensions, and miscellaneous items.
  • Update client records accordingly with received payments.
  • Detect and address discrepancies related to account payments promptly.
  • Request policy reinstatements within company guidelines where forms are missing.
  • Handle mail-received cheques including those in foreign currencies.
  • Prepare bank lodgements and batch reports for supervisory verification.
  • Report any daily payment shortages or overages to the Supervisor.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management Studies, Accounting, or an equivalent recognized qualification.
  • Life Office Management Association (LOMA) I and II certifications.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in finance or accounts roles, including at least one year in a leadership capacity within the insurance or financial sector.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial accounting, insurance laws and regulations, and business laws applicable to insurance.
  • Knowledgeable in business software and data entry tools.
