Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our Operations team as a Tanker Vessel Operator, focused on the management of vessels transporting Vegetable Oil and Biofuel cargoes. This role offers a chance to advance within the maritime and tanker shipping industry while working on end-to-end vessel voyage management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all stages of tanker voyage operations including loading, unloading, and fuel supply activities.
- Collaborate with Vessel Masters, Ship Owners, Terminal Operators, and Agents to ensure cargo operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and punctually.
- Ensure strict adherence to Charter Party agreements and maritime regulations.
- Track vessel performance and assess voyage profitability through detailed Voyage Profit & Loss reports.
- Coordinate with departments like Trading, Chartering, Claims, and Accounting for seamless execution of trade operations.
- Maintain thorough voyage documentation and assist in calculations related to freight, demurrage, and claims processing.
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Business, Shipping Management, or a related discipline.
- Two to three years of professional experience in Tanker Operations or similar shipping operational roles involving Laytime management.
- Proficiency in English communication, both written and spoken.
- Well-versed in tanker charter parties including Voyage Charter and Time Charter agreements.
- Knowledgeable of tanker vessel types and specific cargoes such as Vegetable Oils and Biofuels.
- Familiarity with industry standards like FOSFA and INCOTERMS.
- Strong coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced operational setting.
- Preferred: Hands-on experience working with IMOS and SEDNA platforms.
- Preferred: Experience dealing with freight cost calculations, demurrage, and claims.
