Job description
Role Overview
This position as a Talent Screener involves working remotely with a global team, from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM PST. The salary range based on experience is between $2,000 and $3,000 USD monthly.
Responsibilities
- Screen candidates referred by Talent Sourcers using company-specific procedures without re-evaluating them before scheduling interviews.
- Independently assess candidates from other channels against knockout criteria and requisition profiles to identify those suitable for screening interviews.
- Advance clearly qualified candidates directly to screening interviews without needing additional permission.
- Escalate uncertain or borderline cases to Recruiters instead of making unilateral decisions.
- Process candidates from non-sourced channels within three days of application, logging advancement, escalation, or rejection in the applicant tracking system (ATS) during this timeframe.
- Inform Talent Acquisition Manager about repeated quality issues with sourced candidates to improve sourcing accuracy.
- Conduct live video screening interviews employing approved guides and scorecards to evaluate qualifications, competencies, work authorization, relocation feasibility, and compensation expectations.
- Engage actively in conversations by asking spontaneous follow-up questions to clarify incomplete or unclear responses rather than strictly following scripts.
- Adjust communication style, speed, and vocabulary according to the candidate's background and role level, from warehouse associates to senior technical experts.
- Accurately comprehend U.S. candidates despite regional accents, workplace jargon, and specific industry terms.
- Respond to candidate inquiries about roles, company, or process, referring complex or unapproved questions to the designated Recruiter.
- Use only compliant, approved question language regarding employment authorization, relocation, and compensation, avoiding improvisation in these areas.
- Maintain consistent questioning across candidates for the same role and complete interviews within the scheduled time.
- Assign candidates who advance to the relevant Recruiters.
- Ensure scoring consistency, manage high volumes without bias or fatigue, and raise anomalies to the Talent Acquisition Manager.
- Record candidate dispositions in the ATS within Service Level Agreements using structured data instead of free-text notes.
- Apply accurate reason codes from the approved matrix for every candidate's disposition.
- Maintain data cleanliness in the ATS during screening including accurate stage designation, removal of duplicates, and completing mandatory fields.
- Protect candidate records per privacy policies, including handling asynchronous submissions and score documentation.
- Meet or exceed department performance standards and perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or similar field; or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 2 years experience conducting candidate interviews and virtual screening, with a minimum of 1 year working with U.S. candidates.
- Previous experience assisting U.S.-based hiring teams offshore, familiar with U.S. workplace culture, job titles, and employment norms for hourly and professional roles.
- Exceptional spoken English fluency equivalent to CEFR C1 or higher, capable of unscripted, professional dialogue with U.S. candidates.
- Strong listening skills to understand varied U.S. regional accents, informal workplace language, and industry-specific terminology, with clear speech output.
- Ability to consistently apply a written evaluation rubric at scale, managing scoring fatigue and maintaining scoring integrity.
- Sound judgment to identify clear matches and borderline cases requiring Recruiter review.
- Skilled interviewer instincts, able to detect rehearsed or evasive answers and prompt clarifications without generating discomfort.
- Effective self-management of daily candidate queues, ensuring timely processing before weekends.
- Experience handling confidential information securely in line with data protection policies.
- Comfort working in a dynamic and fast-moving small team where multitasking is required.
Benefits
- Fully remote work setup offering flexibility and work-life balance with a global team.
- Opportunity for professional growth and role development within the company.
- Participation in an innovative culture focused on leveraging data to address challenges and drive business success in a rapidly changing environment.
