Tactical Support Officer

Role Overview

IZI South Africa is looking for a Tactical Support Officer (TSO) to join their Richards Bay branch in KwaZulu-Natal. Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, the TSO is responsible for securing company premises and assets by enforcing company policies and applying best practices in facilities management. The ideal candidate will be results-oriented with excellent judgment and committed to upholding the organization's values.

Primary Duties

• Implement and enforce strict access controls and security measures for all entry points and internal facilities.
• Manage loading processes, including regular function tests on alarm and panic button systems.
• Perform routine after-hours security checks and act as a rotating key custodian.
• Administer control over operational weapons, ammunition, ensuring all registrations and licenses are current and compliant.
• Confirm staff compliance with procedures related to banking activities, payouts, and operation of armored vehicles.
• Conduct pre-departure inspections on armored vehicles and provide armed escorts when necessary.
• Lead departmental investigations and inquiries into criminal matters as needed.

Personnel and Safety Responsibilities

• Promote high employee morale, security awareness, and maintain a professional company image at the branch.
• Monitor staff adherence to uniform policies and workplace safety regulations.
• Work collaboratively on safety planning, generate reports, and facilitate refresher safety training sessions.

Required Qualifications and Certifications

• Completion of Grade 12 education.
• Possession of PSIRA Grade C and CIT certifications.
• Valid Firearm Competency certificate.
• Current Driver’s License along with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP).

Essential Skills and Expertise

• In-depth understanding of South African security laws and occupational health and safety regulations.
• Competency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Strong leadership qualities along with effective communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Experience in risk management and conducting formal investigations.
• Ability to maintain performance and think clearly in high-pressure situations.
