T2 Vehicle Technician

Role Overview

Step forward in your automotive career with Halfords Autocentres as a Vehicle Technician. This role offers support to obtain an MOT Tester qualification, including salary enhancement upon successful certification. You will engage in servicing and repairing vehicles, handling complex tasks such as clutch and timing belt replacements alongside detailed diagnostics of electrical, braking, steering, and suspension systems.

Key Responsibilities

Perform MOT inspections adhering to DVSA standards after qualification, execute a broad spectrum of vehicle maintenance and repair duties, ranging from routine servicing to advanced diagnostic and repair assignments. Ensure vehicles are maintained to the highest standards for customer safety.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of Level 3 certification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or a recognized equivalent qualification.
• At least four years’ experience working as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic within a workshop setting.
• Full driving license with a maximum of nine points.
• Proven ability to conduct diagnostic work and complex repair or replacement procedures.
• Willingness to undergo MOT Tester training and obtain qualification.

Additional Information

• Compensation includes a base salary of £33,000 to £36,000 plus an uncapped monthly bonus averaging £6,600 annually, with total target earnings up to £42,600.
• Funded qualification for MOT Tester with salary increase upon achievement.
• Standard workweek consists of five days.
