Role Overview

The Systems & Virtualization Manager will oversee IT technologies and lead a team of technical systems and infrastructure professionals. Responsibilities include setting IT standards and procedures, managing project lifecycles, design, deployment, and operation of supporting IT software and systems. The role focuses on VMware/Compute systems expertise and requires close coordination with IT management and other business units to align technology with company goals.

Primary Duties

• Plan and manage the full lifecycle of IT projects and specify IT requirements.
• Design, supervise, and track critical projects, budgets, standards, and IT procedures.
• Coordinate VMware solution facilities across departments.
• Handle system, virtualization, and security issues including Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity programs.
• Collaborate with different departments to adhere to business process demands.
• Ensure compliance with organizational guidelines to meet goals and stimulate project advancement.
• Keep abreast of infrastructure trends and implement corresponding business objectives.
• Guarantee high availability of essential business systems.
• Manage vendor relationships for staffing and system support.
• Conduct OS and software system upgrades.
• Administer Windows servers and email infrastructure.
• Monitor Active Directory health and resolve related issues.
• Install and maintain infrastructure servers including Events Manager, File Integrity Monitoring, Radius, and Certificate Authority.
• Establish effective business continuity plans and data protection measures for Windows servers.
• Design, implement, and support VMware Hypervisor and related tools such as ESXi, vRealize, and NSX.
• Support directory services including Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP authentication, group policies, DNS, PKI/Certificates, and virtualization solutions.
• Analyze system performance, initiate enhancements, manage alerts, and oversee availability reporting.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of IT industry experience.
• Proficient in English (listening, speaking, reading, writing) to at least an intermediate level.
• Strong analytical capabilities and independent problem-solving skills.
• Expertise in planning, designing, and implementing IT systems and solutions.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft environments, VMware platforms, and security solutions.
• Experience in data center planning, designing failover solutions, and implementation.
• In-depth understanding of PCI DSS requirements.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies including setup, cluster management, replication, backup/recovery, monitoring, hardening, PKI, and Terminal Server/RDS.
• Familiarity with QSA and CIS standards.
• Ability to enforce IT standards, policies, and best practices within infrastructure teams.
• ITIL certification is desirable.
• Willingness to travel to remote offices to assess and recommend IT solutions.
• Experience working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 management consulting firms.
