Key Knowledge Areas

• Handling complex distributed systems designed for high-availability
• Managing infrastructure cost control, versioning, provisioning, security, governance, logging, monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting
• Designing and maintaining CI/CD automated pipelines
• Code analysis techniques and patch management processes
• Load balancing, networking, and routing principles

Team and Responsibilities

You will be part of the Technology Services Analytics team, reporting to the Manager of Technology Delivery. Collaborating with analyst developers and other systems engineers, your role will be to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable services, supporting both business-as-usual and project-related tasks while ensuring system and data integrity.

What You Will Do

• Install, configure, test, maintain, and monitor systems with limited supervision
• Provide operational support, establish metrics, optimize services, and assist in capacity planning
• Participate in system upgrades and migrations
• Effectively manage change processes, incidents, service requests, and related work items
• Balance factors like cost, customer experience, system reliability, scalability, and sustainability
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of documentation and operational procedures
• Adhere to governance, security, and operational standards
• Foster trusted relationships through clear and collaborative communication
• Conduct system audits to identify risks and improvement opportunities
• Automate routine operational activities to enhance efficiency
• Analyze code using code analysis tools
• Evaluate and recommend tools, platforms, and methodologies
• Commit to continuous growth of your technical expertise

Required Technical Experience

• Microsoft Windows across multiple versions
• Microsoft IIS web server environment
• Microsoft SQL Server database management
• Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Entra identity solutions
• Core knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including Azure fundamentals, Azure Bicep, Azure DevOps, Azure landing zones, and ARM templates
• Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
• Scripting abilities with Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages
• Python programming skills
• Experience with SonarQube or comparable code quality tools
• Use of Grafana for monitoring and visualization

Additional Advantageous Skills

• Familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ubuntu Linux operating systems
• Experience with containerization technologies
• Knowledge of Databricks platform
• R programming language

Salary Range

The starting salary ranges from $84,027 to $113,683 plus KiwiSaver contributions.
