Job description

Role Overview

We seek compassionate and dependable Support Workers to join our Nelson team, assisting individuals with complex needs to live independently and pursue their goals both at home and within the community. This full-time position covers 64 hours every fortnight and requires availability to work at least one weekend shift.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering personal care services with dignity and respect to people with high and complex needs.
  • Adapting effectively to dynamic daily challenges and maintaining strong communication.
  • Supporting the empowerment of individuals, enabling them to live the life they choose.

Candidate Requirements

  • Possess a current First Aid Certificate or show willingness to obtain one at the employer's expense.
  • Hold a full, current New Zealand Driver Licence.
  • Be legally authorized to work in New Zealand, with a valid work visa having at least 12 months before expiration if applicable.
  • Demonstrate a calm, caring attitude and positive outlook.
  • Experience in providing personal care in a respectful and empathetic manner.
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly, be adaptable, and think quickly in varied situations.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn the Enabling Good Lives principles.
