About The Role
The Support Worker – Cleaning position is responsible for maintaining a secure, hygienic, and well-organized environment for both residents and staff at Calvary Kelaston in Wendouree, VIC. This aligns strictly with established operational and safety standards to ensure a high-quality living and working atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute scheduled routine and special cleaning duties including floor mopping and vacuuming, carpet cleaning, damp dusting, cobweb removal, window washing, waste disposal, restocking supplies, and collecting soiled linen and clothing.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks as outlined in the home's cleaning schedules and accurately document task completion accordingly.
- Operate various mechanical cleaning devices such as carpet cleaners, steam cleaners, and hard floor scrubbers safely and efficiently.
- Maintain adequate supplies of clean linen, towels, and laundry skip bags in designated storage zones throughout the facility.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Proven experience performing cleaning duties including mopping, vacuuming, carpet maintenance, damp dusting, and high/window cleaning.
- Preferable familiarity with safe handling of cleaning chemicals and compliance with infection control and occupational health and safety standards.
- Strong commitment to teamwork within a mission-driven organization dedicated to caring for others.
- Effective verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Ability to manage and prioritize workloads effectively.
- Dedication to ongoing quality improvement within the workplace.
- Experience in aged care cleaning is an advantage.
