Supply Chain Executive

Position Overview and Key Responsibilities

As a Supply Chain Executive, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate real-time information on material arrivals, such as open purchase orders, items currently in transit, and deliveries expected today or within the week. You will monitor pending dispatches closely, understanding what is ready to ship and what is stalled due to stock, documentation, or approval delays.

Your daily duties will include planning and clearly assigning tasks to the stores and supply chain management teams every morning. Prioritization of dispatches will be based on delivery commitments, potential penalties, customer urgency, and availability of transport vehicles. At the close of each day, you will review completed versus pending tasks and analyze reasons for any delays.

Quality control is critical; you will ensure thorough inward checking of incoming stock for quantity accuracy, correct part numbers, branding, and physical condition. Any shortages, excesses, or damages are to be reported on the same day. You will also enforce standards related to packaging, expiration date checks at receipt and picking stages, and ensure no package leaves without an electronic invoice.

Additional responsibilities include conducting regular stock counts, investigating discrepancies, and identifying slow-moving inventory. Prompt escalation of any obstacles that might delay consignments is expected rather than allowing items to remain stalled. Furthermore, you will compile and submit daily updates and weekly summaries that highlight pending dispatches along with reasons for delays.

Candidate Profile and Required Skills

The ideal candidate should hold a graduate degree and have 2 to 5 years of experience in areas such as stores management, warehousing, dispatch operations, or supply chain coordination. You must possess the ability to manage and prioritize extensive task lists mentally, always keeping track of the most critical items.

Strong leadership skills are necessary to direct team members effectively and verify task completion. A proactive communication style is important—you should be willing to address and correct team errors directly instead of silently fixing them yourself. Attention to detail is essential since even a minor error in data can lead to wrong material delivery to plants. Integrity in reporting issues honestly, including inconvenient stock variances, is expected.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and email communication is mandatory, with a demonstrated willingness and ability to learn ERP systems such as Tally.
