Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to support APQP and ensure new program launches meet customer timelines.
• Conduct supplier audits to identify improvement opportunities within the supply base.
• Monitor suppliers' adherence to ISO/IATF-16949 standards and ensure compliance.
• Authorize suppliers' PPAPs, PPFs, and Run-at-Rate validations.
• Investigate and evaluate supplier quality issues using appropriate problem-solving methodologies.
• Track supplier performance and implement supplier development activities accordingly.
• Ensure corrective action requests from suppliers are resolved promptly and effectively.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Magna's Supply Chain Manual.
• Oversee timely completion of suppliers' IMDS submissions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives related to your responsibilities.
• Report and actively address internal quality concerns, including monthly scrap monitoring and resolution of major quality issues.
• Regularly monitor and report weekly and monthly Key Performance Indicators, taking corrective actions when required.
• Maintain master data for both new and ongoing projects within the ERP system.
• Participate in project teams and technical change management.
• Conduct incoming inspections of direct materials.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in technical or business economics fields.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in an automotive environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels, including plant personnel and management.
• Completed training in IATF-16949, 2nd party VDA 6.3 auditor, MSA gauge control, SPC, APQP/MLA, PPAP/PPF, and 8D/PPS problem-solving techniques (including Ishikawa and 5 Whys).
• Demonstrated proficiency with precision measurement instruments.
• Strong organizational ability, self-motivation, adept problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Capable of working efficiently under pressure and meeting deadlines.
• Excellent time management and ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
