Job description
Position Overview
The Supervisor - Senior Kitchen will oversee and manage the daily activities of cooks and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient operation and high-quality food preparation. Responsibilities include guiding food presentation, monitoring food quantities and decorations, and coordinating with food and beverage staff about menu changes or unavailable items.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise kitchen personnel including cooks and workers efficiently.
- Design and maintain appealing food presentations and decorative displays.
- Ensure dishes are served with proper portions, garnishes, and arrangement.
- Track food preparation quantities and kitchen stock.
- Communicate menu specials and stock updates to service staff.
- Assist and support cooks and kitchen staff with necessary tasks.
- Maintain kitchen logs relating to food safety and quality.
- Identify issues with food quality and escalate to management when standards are not met.
- Support management in recruitment, training, scheduling, evaluating, and motivating kitchen employees.
- Adhere strictly to company safety and security policies, reporting issues as required.
- Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality of company information.
- Manage guest service requirements and promote a positive team environment.
- Perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, and other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Diploma or degree from technical, trade, or vocational schools.
- Experience: 4 to 6 years in related kitchen roles.
- Supervisory Experience: Minimum 2 years managing kitchen staff.
- Licenses or certifications are not required.
