Supervisor - Kitchen

Position Overview

The Kitchen Supervisor will oversee and coordinate the daily activities of kitchen staff and cooks, ensuring food presentation, quality, and portioning meet established standards. They will create decorative food displays and monitor the quantity of food prepared. They will also communicate with Food & Beverage service teams about menu specialities and stock availability, prepare special or substitute meals, and support kitchen staff in their duties.

Key Duties

• Supervise cook and kitchen worker operations to maintain seamless food preparation and presentation.
• Design appealing food arrangements and garnishes ensuring proper portion control.
• Oversee kitchen inventory and supplies, maintaining accurate food safety logs and product quality standards.
• Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, and motivating kitchen employees.
• Enforce company policies, health and safety protocols, and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain professional appearance and protect confidential information and company assets.
• Address guest service needs and foster positive working relationships with colleagues.
• Perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, lifting items up to 25 pounds, and other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Technical, trade, or vocational school diploma.
• 4 to 6 years work experience in a related kitchen role.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a supervisory position within a kitchen environment.
• No specific licenses or certifications required.
