Job description
Position Summary
The Guest Experience Supervisor oversees all aspects of guest check-in and service processes, ensuring seamless verification of guest identity, payment methods, room assignment, and key issuance. They establish accurate guest accounts tailored to individual requirements and maintain Marriott Rewards information. The role involves confirming rate accuracy, documenting exceptions, securing payments before room key issuance, and adjusting billing when needed. Supervisors compile and analyze daily operational reports and handle cashier and closing documentation. They provide guests with directions and property insights, respond promptly to guest requests by coordinating with appropriate staff, and follow up to confirm satisfaction.
Handling all forms of payment, vouchers, paid-outs, and charges is essential along with balancing receipts and securing the bank at shift start and end. Manual authorizations are obtained following accounting practices, and any theft reports are promptly communicated to Loss Prevention/Security.
Leadership & Team Support
The supervisor assists management in staff training, performance evaluations, counseling, motivation, and coaching. Acting as a role model and first contact for fair treatment policies, they foster positive workplace relationships, support team goals, and attentively address employee concerns. Compliance with company policies, safety training, and certification completion is mandatory. The supervisor maintains professional personal appearance, ensures confidentiality of proprietary information, and protects company assets.
Guest Interaction
Welcoming and acknowledging guests with genuine appreciation and anticipating service needs are core responsibilities. Assistance is provided to guests with disabilities. Communication is clear, professional, and includes telephone etiquette. Quality standards adherence and accurate document preparation are expected. The position requires use of computers and POS systems, and the physical ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods, as well as handling objects up to 10 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- Minimum one year of relevant work experience
- At least one year in a supervisory role
- No specific license or certification required
