The Opportunity
Ryan Hanley, now part of Stantec, is expanding rapidly across Ireland and is engaged in delivering transformative projects under the National Development Plan. These projects span water, wastewater, energy, and flood risk management sectors, supported by a values-driven culture emphasizing community, innovation, and professional development across locations including Dublin, Galway, Cork, and Castlebar.
We are looking for an experienced Structural Lead to guide our expanding structural engineering team. This role offers more than management responsibilities; it is an opportunity to shape the firm's technical direction, mentor engineers, and lead landmark infrastructure projects nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership by taking full accountability for the division's operational results and report directly to executive management.
- Foster a high-performing team by mentoring engineers and technicians, managing recruitment, and supporting professional growth.
- Facilitate multidisciplinary coordination to ensure flawless delivery on complex infrastructure projects through collaboration across engineering disciplines.
- Drive business development by strengthening client partnerships and leading critical tenders to secure new projects.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) holding at least a Level 8 degree with substantial experience in structural engineering. In addition to technical expertise, they will demonstrate commercial insight and leadership capabilities to manage and develop a growing team effectively.
Strong communication skills and the ability to perform under pressure are essential. Proven experience delivering intricate projects with a high level of client satisfaction is required. Experience in a consultancy environment and familiarity with the Water sector are desirable.
