Job description
Role Overview
This position involves working on projects related to sewerage & stormwater management, flood alleviation, wastewater networks, water distribution networks, pumping stations, recycling plants, and rehabilitation works. Responsibilities include investigations, planning, design, tendering, contract administration, and supervising & monitoring construction activities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee site safety, health, and environmental management processes.
- Support the development of construction health and safety plans.
- Ensure submission of all required documentation to the relevant authorities.
- Participate in project planning, site technical, progress, and health and safety meetings.
- Implement and maintain communication systems for health and safety, including the distribution of related documents to subcontractors.
- Create and test project-specific emergency response and preparedness plans.
- Lead site safety inductions for personnel.
- Manage the reporting and investigation of project-related incidents.
- Prepare technical reports on health and safety issues and present findings to diverse decision-making audiences.
- Manage internal and external client communication and develop strong safety environments at construction sites.
- Apply safe work practices in compliance with company policies and execute work safely.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Resident Engineer.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering, Health & Safety Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in miscellaneous drainage work, construction rehabilitation, and wastewater-related projects.
- Certification of NEBOSH IGC Level 3 and other relevant HSE diplomas is required.
- Completion of Abu Dhabi Public Health Center Practitioner Course is mandatory.
- Comprehensive understanding of HSE regulations and best practices, especially within the UAE and Abu Dhabi.
- Holder of a valid UAE driving license.
- TAQA approval is a preferred qualification.
