Job description
Role Purpose
This position addresses the growing demand for strategic capacity at Disrupt by creating and managing the planning, reporting, and decision-making infrastructure for the Executive Committee and Core Leadership Team. This role establishes the operational foundation rather than maintaining existing systems, enhancing management effectiveness to meet ambitious organizational goals.
Position Context
Reporting directly to the Executive Committee and anchored by the SVP of Strategy, Partnerships & Investments, this role serves the collective leadership agenda rather than any individual leader's priorities. It requires balancing and sequencing multiple leadership priorities, exercising independent judgment, and engaging directly with top executives without gatekeeping.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage the complete goal-setting framework, including annual objectives, quarterly OKRs, and monthly targets across all functions and ventures.
- Lead the leadership's weekly tracking sessions to identify progress, risks, and necessary Executive Committee interventions.
- Ensure all leadership decisions result in clear owners, actions, and follow-ups to drive completion without loss.
- Maintain a comprehensive and transparent overview of ongoing initiatives to prioritize work, resource allocation, and sequencing across functions and ventures.
- Continuously re-prioritize initiatives based on changing circumstances, presenting informed recommendations and risk assessments to the Executive Committee.
- Lead priority projects that cross multiple teams, removing obstacles and translating leadership intent into actionable plans with accountability.
- Conduct strategic analysis by structuring ambiguous problems into testable hypotheses, developing financial models, business cases, and scenario analyses, and providing confident recommendations.
- Critically evaluate proposals, stress-test assumptions before committing resources, and conduct post-implementation reviews to embed organizational learning.
- Develop a unified, trusted monthly performance reporting system replacing ad hoc reports to inform leadership.
- Establish and maintain regular performance reviews and decision governance processes, including how strategic decisions are framed, documented, and revisited.
- Manage leadership communication by preparing materials for board, investor, and high-stakes meetings ensuring robust analysis supports the narrative.
- Coordinate Core Leadership Team agendas, pre-reading materials, decision dissemination, and follow-up to ensure effective operating rhythms.
Career Trajectory
The role is designed as a precursor to the Chief of Staff position, providing a pathway to broader leadership responsibilities, including team management, investment roles, or functional leadership within the company or its ventures.
Candidate Profile
- 3 to 6 years of postgraduate experience, primarily from top-tier management consulting firms or equivalent strategy roles in growth companies.
- Proven ownership of entire workstreams with direct leadership engagement, beyond junior support roles.
- Advanced problem-solving and hypothesis-driven approach.
- Strong financial proficiency with model-building capabilities and readiness to defend analyses.
- Excellent executive communication skills, able to condense complex insights into clear, concise messaging.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with top-tier consulting training.
- Background in venture building, private equity, growth equity, investment banking, or fast-growth operational environments.
- Familiarity with MENAP region or global technology and venture ecosystems.
- Industry exposure relevant to portfolio sectors such as technology, digital commerce, financial services, and B2B software.
- Commitment to a long-term career in Pakistan, including relocating or repatriated candidates.
Working Style and Expectations
- Proactive builder who creates processes and structures rather than maintaining existing ones.
- Decisive thinker who forms and defends well-founded opinions with confidence.
- Self-sufficient in research and analysis, comfortable producing comprehensive deliverables independently.
- Influential collaborator operating without direct reports but with leadership scope supported by judgment and stakeholder management.
- Adaptable to fast-paced, evolving environments, open to quick correction and comfortable with ambiguity in role boundaries.
Benefits and Opportunities
- Close interaction and access to the company's Founding Partners and leadership.
- Control over the design and operation of the company’s core management systems.
- Experience across venture formation, growth phases, capital allocation, investment, partnerships, and exit strategies.
- Clear performance-based advancement path to chief of staff role.
- Highly impactful role with significant influence early in career advancement.
- Competitive compensation package including salary and long-term incentive plan (LTIP).
