Role Overview
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is tasked with orchestrating the development and management of sourcing contracts enterprise-wide, ensuring Verizon achieves optimal total contract value by negotiating and executing contracts efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct supplier due diligence and review sourcing requests.
- Create, draft, and review contracts in collaboration with contract management, legal teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Manage internal requisition processes (IRQ) and facilitate contract execution (CAS initiation).
- Negotiate sourcing agreements to procure materials and services meeting criteria for price, quality, timing, and risk mitigation.
- Operate agilely to handle diverse contracts across categories and suppliers, aligning with business needs and CST commitments.
- Analyze financial and business data to ensure total value of ownership and supplier technical capabilities.
- Develop supporting documents and processes while managing cross-functional teams following strategic sourcing protocols.
- Lead supplier negotiations to establish cost-effective, service-guaranteed contracts and foster sustainable supplier partnerships.
- Oversee supplier relationship management activities for key suppliers, ensuring ongoing collaboration and performance monitoring.
- Collaborate with category teams, legal, business leads, and contract liaisons to streamline contract lifecycle and maintain transparent stakeholder communications.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills and adaptability, capable of thriving in dynamic environments and collaborating across diverse teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and/or relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
- Certifications such as CPSM, CPM, or CIPS.
- Proven experience leading meetings and delivering presentations to small groups.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Independently drafting contractual documents including Statements of Work, Master Agreements, Amendments, and Work Orders.
- Familiarity with Ariba, SAP, Google Suite, and Microsoft Suite.
- Background in indirect procurement, technical services, or IT sourcing.
- Competence in data analysis, forecasting tools, and generating actionable insights.
- Availability to work flexible shifts to meet project deadlines.
- Keen interest in continuous learning of new technologies and tools.
- Comfortable using Verizon-approved AI tools like Gemini and Gemini Notebook.
- Understanding of legal contract language and terminology.
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

Work Environment and Schedule
This role is onsite in Limerick, Ireland, with a hybrid work component established by management. The standard workweek is 37.5 hours.
