About Cloudsmith

Cloudsmith stands as the leading artifact management platform, serving software organizations of varying sizes with solutions to securely manage their software supply chains. The platform enables users to maintain curated private repositories that proxy public open-source registries, supporting over 30 artifact formats across popular programming languages, package managers, operating systems, AI, and container protocols. Designed with enterprise needs in mind, Cloudsmith offers robust security, policy enforcement, advanced integrations, and observability tools, making it a vital part of customers' software build processes. Built by developers for developers, Cloudsmith fosters a developer-first culture guided by its core values.

Role Overview

We are seeking a resourceful and innovative Sales Development Representative (SDR), Business Development Representative (BDR), or Inside Sales Representative (ISR) who is eager to advance their career by targeting some of the globe's largest companies. As the inaugural member of Cloudsmith's Global Strategic Accounts pod, reporting directly to the lead, you will take ownership of outbound initiatives, campaigns, and curated events focused on a select list of Global 2000 companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and understand the strategic nuances of a curated set of Global 2000 accounts, moving away from generic outreach approaches.
  • Execute tailored outbound communication strategies via email, telephone, and social media channels customized for each targeted account.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to design personalized account-based campaigns including bespoke landing pages and content crafted specifically for individual companies.
  • Utilize account-based marketing principles, treating each target company as a unique market segment within the Global 2000 list.
  • Organize and manage focused, high-impact in-person events such as executive dinners, roundtables, and regional meetups aimed at decision-making committees within large enterprises.
  • Lead post-conference and trade-show engagements by identifying and connecting with target attendees and turning conversations into sales pipeline opportunities.
  • Innovate by leveraging cross-department resources for single-account strategic pushes and testing unconventional methods like direct mail, gifting, warm introductions via investors or advisors, and developer community outreach.
  • Qualify leads thoroughly and transition sales-ready prospects to strategic account executives with detailed context including involved stakeholders and competitive landscapes.
  • Maintain meticulous records of interactions and outcomes in CRM systems (HubSpot and Salesforce), systematically tracking effective tactics across outbound efforts.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Demonstrated success in SDR, BDR, or ISR roles, with experience engaging complex technical buyers in domains such as software, cloud computing, DevOps, or security.
  • Between two and four years of sales or prospecting experience, with preference towards those familiar with enterprise or named account sales methodologies.
  • Proficiency using CRM platforms and sales tools including Slack, HubSpot, Salesforce.com, Intercom, and Zoom.
  • Proven ability to consistently achieve pipeline and sales targets.
  • Familiar with outreach tactics including email sequences, cold calling, social selling, and willingness to innovate beyond conventional methods.
  • Comfortable engaging technical audiences and understanding associated technologies like DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and continuous integration/deployment.
  • Coachability and eagerness to grow within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Resourcefulness and creativity to manage marketing-related responsibilities such as campaign ideation and event organization alongside sales activities.
  • Capable of confidently communicating and building relationships with senior executives such as security leaders, VPs of Engineering, and CTOs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills conveyed professionally and clearly.

Cultural Values

  • Customer-Centric: Prioritize customer voice and craft purchase experiences customers value highly.
  • Collective Accountability: Share ownership and responsibility for overall company success.
  • Transparency and Integrity: Foster honest, straightforward communication to build trust.

Benefits and Work Environment

  • Role based in Northern Ireland or Republic of Ireland; candidates must have independent work authorization without sponsorship.
  • Competitive salary accompanied by equity participation.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Generous paid time off and flexible work arrangements supporting individual needs.
  • Professional development budget allocated for training, conferences, and certifications.
  • An inclusive, innovative, and supportive workplace encouraging collaboration and trust.
  • Opportunity to shape a new strategic sales function with direct access to executive leadership.
  • Frequent travel to client sites and industry events, emphasizing active engagement beyond desk-based work.

Wellness and Personal Growth

We emphasize sustainable work pace and wellbeing for all employees and their families through generous leave policies, health benefits, and family-friendly flexibility. We encourage ongoing learning and support professional growth with resources for equipment, books, and external training.

Company Facilities and Culture

Cloudsmith’s headquarters in Belfast offers 24/7 office access and hosts regular in-person activities. Remote work is common, facilitated by collaboration tools such as Slack, Google Docs, and Linear. Biannual all-hands meetings bring team members together to learn, connect, and engage in team-building.

Diversity and Inclusion

As an equal opportunity employer, Cloudsmith actively embraces diversity and prohibits discrimination on any basis, fostering an inclusive workplace culture.

Final Thoughts

We seek a creative, strategically minded sales professional capable of designing tailored approaches to engage Fortune-scale enterprises. This role is about pioneering non-traditional tactics and contributing to the growth of critical infrastructure for developers worldwide. Join us in advancing Cloudsmith's journey from now through IPO and beyond.
