Stores & Grounds Person

About the Role

This position involves a dual role supporting operations at remote village sites on a 14/7 FIFO roster from Perth. The employee alternates weekly between managing stores functions and maintaining village outdoor grounds and facilities. The role demands hands-on involvement in inventory handling and grounds upkeep to ensure a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive incoming deliveries, verifying items against shipping manifests and paperwork.
• Safely unload and store stock, distributing supplies to relevant departments.
• Implement stock rotation systems and minimize product waste.
• Monitor inventory levels and promptly inform management about restocking needs.
• Support stocktake procedures and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Handle administrative tasks including inventory data entry, invoice processing, and purchase order management within inventory software systems.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and orderliness of storage, receival, and workspace areas.
• Adhere to food safety, quality, environmental standards, and workplace health and safety regulations.
• Deliver excellent customer service to residents, guests, and other village stakeholders.
• Ensure all outdoor grounds are tidy, well-maintained, and visually appealing including litter removal and upkeep of recreational spaces.
• Maintain outdoor furnishings, BBQ areas, pathways, car parks, landscaped entries, and dust suppression efforts.
• Assist in preparation for and recovery from cyclones.
• Empty external bins and waste stations, manage rubbish collection and disposal processes, including recycling and waste segregation compliance.
• Conduct inspections to identify hazards and report maintenance or safety issues.
• Maintain safe and accessible pathways, stairways, and other terrains according to site safety guidelines.
• Operate and care for equipment such as blowers, hedge trimmers, bin trailers, and utility vehicles (with required licenses), including pre-start safety checks.
• Support village logistics with furniture moves, setup activities, accommodation tasks, and event assistance.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in stores, warehousing, logistics or inventory control operations.
• Background in groundskeeping, landscaping, property or outdoor maintenance roles.
• Preferably holds a current LF or LO Forklift Licence.
• Possession of a valid Australian Driver's Licence.
• Capable of working outdoors in remote, environmentally varied conditions.
• Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.
• Proficient computer use and familiarity with inventory management systems.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team framework.
• Excellent organizational ability and keen attention to detail.
• Customer service oriented with strong communication skills.
• Must have legal Australian working rights.
