Role Overview

The Stores Assistant is essential to the smooth running of hotel operations by ensuring that all hotel departments receive the supplies, products, and equipment they require. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this role involves carefully managing inventory through receiving, storing, and distributing goods efficiently within the hotel.

Primary Responsibilities

• Receiving and verifying incoming deliveries for accuracy and safety.
• Inspecting goods for quality and confirming they match purchase orders and delivery documents.
• Maintaining precise inventory records using the hotel's procurement and inventory systems.
• Distributing stock promptly across various departments as per requests.
• Assisting with stocktaking tasks and inventory management to maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Keeping storage areas, including storerooms, cool rooms, freezers, and loading docks, clean, organised, and secure.
• Ensuring stock rotation to maintain product freshness and reduce waste.
• Processing invoices and supporting procurement-related administrative duties.
• Monitoring stock quantities and notifying the Procurement Manager of shortages.
• Adhering to workplace health and safety, food safety, and security protocols.
• Collaborating effectively with all hotel departments to support seamless daily operations.
• Setting a positive example to foster a collaborative and guest-focused work culture.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in stores, warehousing, stock control, logistics or inventory management is preferred.
• Possession of a valid Australian Driver's Licence is mandatory.
• Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Comfortable using computer systems for inventory tracking and data entry.
• Physical capability to safely lift and move stock within the hotel.
• Knowledge of food safety, stock rotation, and storage procedures is advantageous.
• Ability to build positive collaborative relationships across departments.
• Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Commitment to upholding workplace health and safety standards.
