About the Role

As a Stores and Procurement Officer at the City of Greater Geelong, you will play a central role in managing the municipality's inventory and procurement processes. Ensuring that materials and supplies are available as required, you will oversee ordering, receiving, storage, and accurate tracking of inventory. Your efforts will support efficient, cost-effective, and compliant supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform various duties related to stores management, prioritizing customer and community satisfaction.
• Apply knowledge of purchasing procedures, procurement principles, and necessary administrative tasks to secure optimal value outcomes.
• Utilize computer systems, including stores and procurement software, effectively.
• Deliver prompt customer service and procurement assistance to meet the operational demands.
• Complete deliveries and collections with accuracy, safety, and timeliness.
• Maintain stores facilities, equipment, and inventory in a safe, compliant, and well-kept condition.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated experience working within stores or inventory management environments, with an aptitude for learning new procedures and systems.
• Relevant training, qualifications, or coursework related to the field.
• Proven record of contributing effectively to stores operations.
• Experience in addressing minor work-related issues and adapting to new situations.
• Understanding of safe work practices and manual handling protocols.
• Capability to mentor and train junior staff members.
• Possession of forklift and front-end loader licenses is considered advantageous.
• Successful applicants will undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical exam, both funded by the City.

Additional Information

The position is permanent full-time classified at Band 4, with an annual salary of $76,010 plus superannuation benefits.
