Role Overview

This full-time, on-site Storekeeper position based in Addis Ababa entails overseeing the reception, storage, and distribution of materials, tools, and equipment. Daily responsibilities include receiving deliveries, verifying and documenting incoming items, systematically organizing and labeling inventory, and maintaining precise inventory records through registers or digital systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Unload received goods and verify their accuracy against delivery documents.
• Organize and label stock items systematically.
• Maintain accurate inventory documentation in physical registers or digital inventory management systems.
• Ensure proper packaging and careful handling of materials to prevent damage.
• Monitor stock quantities and coordinate replenishments promptly to meet production and project requirements.
• Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, adhering strictly to safety protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness, security, and orderliness within the storage area.
• Collaborate effectively with procurement, production, and maintenance departments to ensure uninterrupted material flow and optimal stock levels.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficient in inventory management practices including inventory control techniques.
• Experienced in material handling tasks like unloading and forklift operation with a focus on safety compliance.
• Skilled in packing and organizing materials for storage and dispatch.
• Basic computer literacy with familiarity in inventory or ERP software systems.
• Detail-oriented, dependable, and capable of maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Effective communicator and team player.
• Prior experience in warehousing, storekeeping, or logistics is advantageous.
• Technical or vocational education in logistics, supply chain management, or related disciplines is preferred.
