Role Overview
As a Storekeeper, you will manage the hotel’s stores, oversee inventory, coordinate deliveries, and handle stock movements. Your responsibility is to ensure goods are received, stored, issued, and recorded accurately following the company’s procurement, health and safety, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Receipt, inspection, documentation, and distribution of all incoming and outgoing goods to relevant departments and storage locations.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of stock movements, delivery entries, issues, and returns.
- Efficiently control central stores, ensuring correct storage, handling, and issuance of materials.
- Process purchase orders through the online procurement system and manage stock replenishment as needed.
- Conduct routine inventory audits and stock counts to guarantee accuracy in records.
- Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations as well as food safety standards, particularly for food and beverage inventory.
- Monitor and authorize stock issues for beverages, stewarding supplies, operating equipment, and outlets per established procedures.
- Perform spot checks of F&B outlet inventories and investigate inconsistencies.
- Assist in recipe costing by updating purchase prices and aiding in the costing process of menus.
- Maintain accurate beverage recipe data within hotel systems.
- Carry out yield tests for meat, fish, juices, and other relevant products to support cost control.
- Verify food and beverage checks against kitchen order tickets and contribute to periodic profitability analysis.
- Conduct market surveys on food products, especially fruits and vegetables, to support strategic purchasing and cost management.
- Monitor stock and operating expenses; report significant variances or rising costs to management.
- Maintain high standards in organization, cleanliness, grooming, punctuality, and overall professionalism.
- Collaborate effectively with departments such as Food & Beverage, Purchasing, and Cost Control to ensure seamless store operations.
- Stay well-informed about product knowledge and operational needs of the hotel.
- Participate in required trainings and stay updated with company policies and operational standards.
- Provide flexible assistance to other hotel departments as business needs arise.
- Undertake any additional reasonable tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 2 years of experience in storekeeping, inventory management, receiving, or cost control roles, preferably within a hotel or resort setting.
- Completion of high school or equivalent vocational education; qualifications in Hospitality, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related fields are advantageous.
- Strong understanding of stock control procedures, inventory management, receiving and issuing practices, and cost control methodologies.
