Role Overview
The role of Stores Officer is critical to the smooth handling and organization of tyre inventory at Quality Tyres Namibia (Pty) Limited. Responsibilities include receiving, storing, and distributing tyres efficiently while ensuring accurate inventory records are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving stock: Verify quantities, sizes, order numbers, and documentation for accuracy and completeness; report short deliveries promptly and document discrepancies.
- Maintain neat, organized tyre storage.
- Perform tasks accurately and consistently without errors.
- Verify supplies and invoice correctness, maintain computer inventory systems.
- Manage documentation: ensure all necessary paperwork is checked, processed, and delivered to invoice clerks.
- Conduct regular stock counts and report results to branch management.
- Handle special orders by ensuring customer details and invoice numbers are properly recorded and attached.
- Resolve stock variances quickly and ensure order accuracy to avoid backorders.
- Release stock strictly on formal stock requests, ensuring returns of old casings are processed.
- Ensure correct stock issuance preventing inventory discrepancies.
- Oversee rethreading processes by accurately marking tyres, timely dispatch, and maintaining master control records.
- Coordinate follow-ups, match invoices with product deliveries, and escalate incorrect deliveries to branch management.
- Keep reps informed about customer stock and maintain correct tyre storage conditions.
- General administration: Store second-hand tyres indoors, update and maintain stock registers both physically and digitally, and manage scrap tyre disposal only with proper authorizations.
- Ensure tyre stacks are neat and secure, store access is controlled, and premises are orderly and presentable.
- Maintain accurate records, customer information, scrap registers, and ensure fire safety equipment is accessible.
- Brand tyres on request and protect company assets diligently.
- Adhere strictly to workplace health and safety regulations, including proper use and maintenance of safety equipment.
- Perform additional reasonable duties within job scope as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least Grade 10 School Certificate.
- Basic computer skills required.
