About the Role

Designer Brands Canada invites applications for the position of Store Manager at their DSW retail location in London, Ontario. This role entails leading a dynamic store environment that actively promotes inclusivity and fosters diverse connections with customers. The Store Manager reports directly to the District Manager and is entrusted with steering a team focused on delivering outstanding customer experiences and achieving sales goals across both in-store and online channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the store team with accountability for maximizing business results by ensuring exceptional and personalized customer service.
  • Model a shopping experience that highlights engaging merchandise displays, operational integrity, and fosters customer loyalty.
  • Maintain operational excellence by managing company policies, shrink and loss prevention strategies, payroll, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Recruit, mentor, develop, and train highly motivated staff driven by a passion for footwear.
  • Drive achievement of company objectives while exhibiting core values such as Passion, Accountability, Collaboration, and Authenticity.
  • Formulate and execute agile business plans aimed at meeting results.
  • Encourage teamwork, collaboration, and adaptability within the store and district teams.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with Senior Operational Managers.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Relevant post-secondary education.
  • At least 4 years of progressive supervisory experience in retail environments.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting sales and profitability targets in high-volume retail settings.
  • Energetic and positive team player with strong leadership and motivational abilities.
  • Proficiency with computers, including email, MS Word or similar word processing, and Excel or equivalent spreadsheet software.
  • Capacity to multitask effectively in a fast-paced retail environment while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
  • Availability to work days, closing shifts, and weekends.
  • Willingness to be geographically mobile within the area served.

Compensation

Annual salary ranges from $55,620 to $61,800.
