Role Overview

The Store Manager Designate position in South London is a full-time role involving 39 contracted hours per week. Reporting to the Area Manager, the designate will work across several local stores, driving sales growth and overall store performance. This role offers exposure to different teams and store formats to develop management skills in preparation for eventually leading a store independently.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage daily store operations including stock control and maintaining high store standards.
  • Lead and motivate team members to reach and exceed sales targets and key performance indicators.
  • Foster a positive, engaging, and enjoyable workplace for all colleagues.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the store environment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service in alignment with the company’s goal to be the best pet care business globally.

Training and Development

Comprehensive industry-leading training will be provided over six months, covering customer service, pet care knowledge, and health and safety requirements to support success in this role.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of two years retail management experience, managing teams of ten or more in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong enthusiasm for retail coupled with a history of achieving excellent results.
  • Availability to work a seven-day rotating shift pattern including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to engage and inspire teams.
  • Commitment to completing the full training programme provided.
