Store Manager Candidate

Role Overview

The Store Manager Candidate will assist in the overall store operations supporting employee supervision, staffing, inventory control, merchandising, and customer service, with the goal of preparing for a full Store Manager position by building leadership and operational skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in recruiting, hiring, and training store staff.
• Help stage, stock, and present merchandise following store guidelines.
• Assist with managing inventory including processing damages, markdowns, and stock counts.
• Ensure the store maintains appropriate stock levels and an appealing appearance.
• Provide exceptional customer service and adhere to company policies as a role model.
• Contribute to daily opening and closing tasks, cash handling, and security procedures.
• Keep the store environment clean, safe, and sufficiently stocked for customers and employees.
• Support analysis of sales figures, expenses, and inventory trends to discover improvements.
• Accurately and promptly complete all required documentation.

Qualifications & Skills

• Ability to read and interpret operational documents with basic arithmetic skills.
• Familiarity with cash management, inventory control, and merchandising techniques.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Well-developed organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
• Effective problem-solving skills across varied situations.
• Bilingual abilities (for example, Spanish) are preferred.

Experience & Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least one year of retail work experience is beneficial.

Physical & Working Conditions

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting of items up to 55 pounds.
• Occasional climbing, driving, and exposure to outdoor weather elements.
• Work environment is fast-paced with moderate noise levels.
