Job Summary
The role of Store Manager involves mentoring and guiding the store team to ensure they provide exceptional customer service and assist pet owners in selecting suitable nutrition and products tailored to their pets' needs. This position suits individuals passionate about pets and eager to grow within a well-established pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the store staff in meeting customer service expectations and maintain positive community relations, including partnerships with organizations such as the Humane Society.
- Oversee hiring, scheduling, training, task assignment, supervision, and coaching of team members.
- Ensure compliance with corporate operational standards and procedures among staff.
- Manage administrative duties such as order placements, inventory control, store and safety audits, minor repairs coordination, and other corporate paperwork.
- Drive the team towards achieving predefined business goals and targets.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Candidate Qualifications
- At least two years of experience in customer service and retail management.
- Strong enthusiasm for learning and development within the pet care sector.
- Friendly and outgoing demeanor coupled with excellent customer service skills.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and evenings, with reliable transportation.
- Skillful in coaching staff on sales techniques and customer interactions.
- Ability to handle team dynamics and escalate conflicts when necessary.
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Physical capability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.
- Previous experience in the pet industry is considered advantageous.
