Store Manager

About the Role

At Hot Topic, we cherish music, pop culture, and delivering an exceptional in-store experience for both customers and employees. We are looking for an outgoing Store Manager who will passionately lead the store, embodying the spirit of fandom. You will drive the store in accomplishing its goals related to sales, recruiting, development, and managing performance. As a retail expert, you will be prepared to tackle challenges, nurture talent, and provide outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities

• Achieve or exceed the store's sales plan and comparable sales targets, recognizing the importance of financial results.
• Recruit, train, and retain a motivated and cooperative team to manage the store effectively alongside you.
• Be a dynamic leader who creates excitement and engages customers via social media, store digital platforms, and personalized client approaches.
• Ensure smooth operations by maintaining organizational balance through delegation, autonomy, and customer-focused sales strategies.
• Monitor and control shrinkage and loss prevention, manage payroll hours and scheduling, and be alert to external factors affecting business.
• Work collaboratively with retail leadership and headquarters to communicate trends and gather customer feedback.
• Analyze sales reports and use data insightfully to inform strategies to reach sales objectives.
• Adapt to new technologies, enforce company policies and procedures, and responsibly manage supply expenditures.
• Maintain appealing merchandise presentation, implementing planograms accurately, and launching promotional events promptly.
• Mentor and develop team members through coaching, recognizing achievements, and providing constructive feedback to build a pool of talented staff.

Qualifications

• Possess 1 to 2 years of retail store management experience with a history of leading teams to achieve success, demonstrating skills in communication, recruitment, and operations management such as payroll, reporting, scheduling, and merchandising.
• Have completed at least a high school diploma or GED; a higher education degree is advantageous.
• Exhibit resilience and adaptability to the fast-evolving nature of retail.
• Have an open and curious mind towards pop culture fandoms and music trends.
• Be physically capable of performing typical retail tasks, including navigating the store environment, merchandising with approved equipment, and handling merchandise packages weighing up to 50 pounds.

Compensation Note

The initial salary range for this position will be as advertised. However, the final pay will vary based on factors including education, location, fulfillment of job requirements, as well as training and experience.
