Role Overview
As a Store Manager located in Sydney, Nova Scotia, you will guide and nurture your store team to deliver exceptional customer service, helping pet owners find suitable nutrition and other pet care products. This role offers the opportunity to join a dedicated group of pet experts and grow your career within a leading pet retail company.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all staff members meet customer service expectations and maintain positive relations with the community, such as connecting with humane societies.
- Lead store staff by recruiting, scheduling, training, assigning daily tasks, supervising, and coaching.
- Guarantee adherence to operational standards and corporate procedures among all team members.
- Handle administrative duties including placing orders, managing inventory levels, completing store and safety audits, coordinating minor store maintenance, and fulfilling corporate paperwork.
- Drive store team efforts towards achieving sales and business objectives.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- At least two years of experience in customer service and retail store management.
- A passion for learning and career growth within the pet care sector.
- An outgoing, friendly demeanor paired with solid customer service abilities.
- Availability to work as scheduled, including weekends and evenings.
- Reliable transportation to commute to and from the store.
- Capability to observe and mentor employees on sales techniques and delivering excellent customer service.
- Ability to recognize and manage conflicts within the team, escalating issues when necessary.
- Familiarity with point of sale (POS) systems.
- Physical ability to repetitively lift weights up to 50 lbs.
- Previous experience in the pet retail industry is advantageous.
