Job Overview

In the role of Store Maintenance Operative based in Wednesbury, you will be pivotal to maintaining and enhancing our retail environments. Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of maintenance tasks such as groundwork repairs, plumbing, painting, and decorating, suiting a motivated individual who enjoys a varied daily routine.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural maintenance duties in retail outlets and storage facilities
- Handle general building and manual labor tasks
- Apply painting and tiling skills to decorate store areas
- Carry out routine plumbing activities confidently
- Operate power tools frequently as part of the maintenance process
- Conduct Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) visits and proactively detect and fix faults
- Coordinate with external contractors for complex repair work
- Adhere to and promote excellent health and safety standards
Candidate Requirements
- Prior experience in general maintenance roles
- Strong numerical aptitude
- Ability to multitask effectively and manage competing priorities
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends
- Relevant certifications such as NVQ or BTEC are advantageous
- Good attention to detail within a busy environment
