Store Detective (SIA Licensed)

Position Overview

Kingdom Services Group Ltd is seeking a full-time, permanent Store Detective to safeguard Tesco stores in the South Yorkshire region, specifically around Abbeydale. This role plays a critical part in loss prevention by detecting theft and protecting both customers and company assets through vigilant surveillance and investigation.

Work Hours & Location

The position requires 40 hours per week, working five days within a seven-day schedule. Shifts are 8 hours each with varied start times. The detective will operate on-site at multiple Tesco locations across South Yorkshire and travel between stores is necessary, so owning a personal vehicle is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Observe store environments to identify and deter theft, fraudulent activities, and other criminal behaviors.
• Carry out covert surveillance and conduct thorough investigations.
• Collect and safeguard evidence such as CCTV recordings and statements from witnesses.
• Retrieve unpaid merchandise and detain offenders following legal and company guidelines.
• Document incidents and investigative findings comprehensively in reports.
• Communicate relevant intelligence to store management and security personnel.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and external agencies as needed.
• Advise store staff on crime prevention measures.
• Maintain a professional, visible presence when required to enhance security.
• Manage difficult situations with composure, ensuring safety and professionalism at all times.

Candidate Requirements

• Holder of a valid SIA Licence.
• Prior proven experience as a Store Detective, Loss Prevention Officer, or a similar security role.
• Strong observational skills complemented by effective communication abilities and high-quality report writing.
• Ability to handle conflicts calmly and confidently.
• Capability to provide a comprehensive five-year employment history that can be checked.
• Must have own means of transportation due to inter-store travel requirements.
