Job description
Role Overview
This position is for a Level 1 Backup and Storage Engineer focused on backup and storage support within Saudi Arabia. The role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining backup operations and associated storage infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and assist backup operations utilizing Dell PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM), Networker, Data Domain, and Veeam technologies.
- Conduct fundamental troubleshooting for backup failures, alerts, and storage-related challenges.
- Manage and observe basic administration tasks for Dell PowerMax and PowerScale storage systems.
- Monitor and address issues related to SAN switches and storage area network connectivity.
- Perform routine health checks, log incidents, escalate problems when necessary, and maintain thorough documentation.
- Collaborate with Level 3 support teams to resolve complex technical issues.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Foundational understanding of Networker, PPDM, Data Domain, PowerMax, PowerScale, and SAN switch technologies.
- Basic grasp of backup processes, storage systems, SAN configurations, and networking principles.
- Strong capability in monitoring systems and troubleshooting technical problems.
