Stockperson / Cartpusher

Position Overview

As a Stockperson / Cartpusher, you play a vital role in ensuring a safe, organized, and pleasant shopping environment by managing shopping carts and supporting store operations. This role involves collecting carts from various locations using approved methods and providing helpful customer assistance with a focus on safety and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Retrieve shopping carts from cart corrals, parking lots, and store perimeter areas; return them to designated storage spaces following Walmart's established procedures.
• Accurately complete required logs documenting cart collection activities.
• Promptly attend to requests from registers and Customer Service, including aiding customers with carrying items and verifying purchase receipts as necessary.
• Perform occasional cleaning and maintenance tasks, such as restroom upkeep, adhering to proper chemical handling and disposal protocols and ensuring equipment safety inspections before use.
• Follow all safety standards and emergency procedures including hazardous communication, lockout/tagout, and bloodborne pathogen protocols to maintain a secure environment for customers and staff.
• Use personal protective equipment like steel-toe footwear and reflective vests; conduct safety sweeps and comply with company policies to promote a hazard-free workplace.
• Demonstrate flexibility by working various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet operational needs.

Challenges of the Role

• Manage high volumes of tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting, especially during overnight hours, maintaining focus and energy throughout shifts.
• Execute physically demanding activities such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting items up to 50 lbs., while performing repetitive stocking and organizing duties with excellent attention to detail.

Compensation

The starting pay rate is $15.50 per hour.
