About The Role
The Building Company is seeking a dedicated Stock Controller for their BUCO division based in Athlone. This permanent position involves coordinating the receipt and management of all stock, including receiving, Goods Received Note (GRN) processing, merchandising, and maintaining optimal stock levels and variety across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze stock reports and evaluate cost implications of stock shortages.
- Handle supplier returns efficiently and keep the Cycle Counter accurately updated.
- Investigate and validate any stock discrepancies or variances.
- Clear any negative stock entries and maintain proper bin locations for stock items.
- Monitor stock quality to identify potentially high-risk or damaged stock.
- Conduct regular stocktakes and generate relevant reports such as no stock/no demand and deletion reports.
- Ensure that all existing stock is properly binned and stock performance is continuously tracked.
- Compile and provide variance data reports to the operator for the monthly 8-week stock cycle.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Successful completion of Grade 12 education.
- Minimum of three years experience in stock control, or alternatively, possession of a Certificate in Retailing (NQF Level 5) or Retail Operations Management (NQF Level 5).
- If certifications are not held, candidates must have completed at least three of the following skill programs: knowledge of factors influencing wholesale and retail bottom lines, supervision of loss control measures and stock counts, retail stock replenishment, management of stock holding procedures in wholesale and retail settings, picking and dispatching stock in distribution centers, packing and maintenance of stock, receiving stock into distribution centers, and stock counting for stock-takes.
