Merchandiser - BUCO Windhoek

About the Role

The Building Company is seeking a dedicated Merchandiser for the BUCO business unit located in Windhoek, Khomas, Namibia. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that all inventory is neatly organized, properly binned, and attractively displayed at all times. Additionally, all display fixtures such as racks, bays, and gondolas must be consistently maintained in a clean and functional condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and engage the customer base to promote sales.
• Deliver excellent customer service consistently.
• Meet sales and gross profit objectives.
• Conduct administration tasks and regular reporting.
• Perform merchandising of stock by placing and returning items as necessary.
• Follow up on quotations and ensure stock locations are accurate.
• Report any damaged or depleted stock promptly.
• Support product promotions and assist customers effectively.
• Ensure adherence to merchandising standards.
• Maintain display equipment and uphold company values.
• Coordinate regular stock takes and manage stock receipts.

Job Requirements

• Completion of Grade 12 (high school).
• At least 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar merchandising role.
• Minimum one year of experience specifically in shelf packing or merchandising.
• Familiarity with the general building materials industry is crucial.
• Proven track record in personal selling, achieving sales targets, and providing stellar customer service.
• Ability to find new customers and convert leads into actual sales.
• Competence in managing and coordinating stock taking procedures.
• Good interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
