About the Role
This position is for Stock Agents who will work primarily in the livestock industry across the Adelong, Tumut, Gundagai, and the broader Eastern Riverina and Upper Murray areas. The role involves early starts at saleyards, farm visits, and engaging with local rural communities to build strong relationships and provide livestock marketing and sales services. The role requires a hands-on approach with a focus on trust, reputation, and community involvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new livestock clients.
- Spot and act on livestock marketing opportunities within the region.
- Offer trusted and practical advice to producers on livestock management and sales.
- Collaborate with buyers, processors, and industry influencers to support transactions.
- Assist with livestock auctions, sales, and on-farm transactions.
- Participate in local industry events and community activities to enhance presence and network.
- Continuously grow your personal profile, network, and reputation in the agricultural community.
Candidate Profile
- Experience can vary from established livestock agents to newcomers wanting to build a career in livestock.
- Strong confidence in building relationships and gaining client trust.
- Enjoy working within rural and producer communities with a strong work ethic and commercial understanding.
- Motivated to develop professionally and contribute to a broader team environment.
- Negotiation skills to effectively match buyers and sellers.
- Genuine interest in livestock and agricultural practices.
- Possession of or willingness to obtain a Livestock Auctioneer Licence and Assessor Accreditation through provided training.
